Welcome to Aspen Class 2019-20
Staff in this class: Mrs Victoria Woodland & Ms Nina Vara
Term 4 in Aspen is going to be filled with lots of fun and exciting learning opportunities and activities.
The themed topics we will be covering during term 4 will be 'Pancake Day', 'Healthy Eating' and 'Going on Holidays'.
Our lessons and activities will be planned around these themes and will be explored through interactive and hands on activities.
We will continue to have 5*U sessions on Wednesday afternoons with Chris and Charlotte from Bristol Bears Rugby.
We also have an afternoon 'Healthy Eating' workshop on 16th March 2020 run by Chartwells Catering; during this workshop the children will be exploring healthy foods by making their own food art linked the the 'Hungry Caterpillar' story.
This term Aspen Class has been working hard on setting this new classroom up and welcoming 5 new pupils to the school. Aspen Class will follow an EYFS model and curriculum.
During this term we have focused on celebrating the Chinese New Year, exploring space and night time through our topic theme, and learning stories.
In Literacy we have been doing lots of practice of forming our letters correctly and sequencing learnt stories.
In Maths we have been exploring number ordering, number formation, number bonds to 10 and addition to 20.
Every Wednesday afternoon we have been taking part in 5*U sessions; these sessions are run by Bristol Bears Rugby and focus on developing the children's team work skills, resilience and confidence through a variety of different team games and dance.
